Shar Sosh

Shar Sosh is an internationally recognized artist who has painted for presidents, governments and private individuals. Shar paints primarily with acrylics and oils, and is well-known for her exuberant portraits and landscapes as well as meticulous copies for works by artists such as Van Gogh, Modigliani and Klimpt. She has spend a great deal of time at the museums in Europe, carefully studying that techniques and brushwork of the Masters whose work she recreates. Her "impressions" of these works are brilliant. The Van Gogh's have thick, raised paint in keeping with his style, while the Modiglianis have a palette knife texture.

Shar splits her painting time between the U.S.A. and her studio in the artist quarter in Montmartre, Paris. She was a featured artist at the Millennium Ball in 2000, celebrating the re-inauguration of President Clinton. She has also painted part of the Montmartre subway station in Paris. Her work has been featured on the cover and in articles in magazines such as Montmartre, American Artists, and Mandal (Norway).

Shar is a native of Indiana. She has studied art at The Art Institution of Chicago, and her painting has taken her around the world, from Hong Kong to Norway and most places in between. Her works are collections in France, England, Norway, Africa, Greece, China, Australia, Germany, Austria, Taiwan, and Italy, as well as the United States.
